Marine
Motors opened their training school "Powerboat Training Ireland"
in 2004.The idea behind the Training School was to be able to provide
a "one stop shop" in regards to powerboating. Marine Motors
wanted to provide their customers with top class services both on
the off the water.
In
2004 KELTICWAVE also burst onto the Powerboating scene. The motto
is "excellence ashore and afloat".Headed up by RYA Yachtmaster
instuructor, ISA Dinghy and Powerboat instructor Trainer,Claire
Toohey, Kleticwave offer a wide range of courses in marine Training,
from yachting, Powerboating, Navigation to VHF, PC nav and private
tuition.
In
January 2006 Marine Motors and Kelticwave came together on the powerboating
front with the single vision of providing top quality, highly professional
courses.
The
centre uses digital multimedia presentations in its training room
with new fully equipped, high spec boats.Intro to powerboating,
the National powerboat Cert and advanced powerboat courses are provided.
Courses have minimum 16 hours water time on Level 1/2, and advanced
powerboat includes an offshore night passage.
The centre has a number of highly qualified and experienced instructors.Safety
equipment will be of regulation high standard and ISA approved and
will include EPIRB, Icom DSC VHF etc.
Each craft will accommodate 3 students maximum on level 1 and 2..For
students onadvanced powerboat who would welcome the opportunity
to refresh their navigational skills to day skipper level, an ISA
approved refresher module is also available.Advanced cources will
include optional south coast night passage and overnight accommodation
can be arranged.
